LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team tips-off the 2022 Mountain West Tournament on Wednesday when it faces Nevada. Tipoff at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas is noon MT (11 a.m. PT) and the game will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.

New Mexico is the tournament’s No. 9 seed after going 13-18 overall and 5-12 in the conference. The Lobos won five of their last 10 Mountain West games after starting 0-7 in league play. UNM is led by  guards Jamal Mashburn, Jr. and Jaelen House, who were both named third-team All-Mountain West on Tuesday.

Nevada is the tournament’s No. 8 seed after going 12-17 overall and 6-12 in the conference. The Wolf Pack enter the postseason having lost its last four regular season games. Nevada is led by guards Grant Sherfield and Desmond Cambridge, Jr., who were also third-team All-Mountain West selections.

It is the second meeting of the season between the teams as the Wolf Pack won 79-70 in Reno on New Year’s Day.

The winner of the New Mexico-Nevada game will advance to the quarterfinals to play top-seeded Boise State on Thursday. That game will be 1 p.m. MT (noon PT) at the Thomas & Mack Center and will air on CBS Sports Network.
