Women’s Track & Field Move Up To No. 20 In Latest USTFCCCA Rating Index
NEW ORLEANS – The Lobo women’s track & field team moved up to No. 20 on USTFCCCA’s National Rating Index, announced the association on Monday.
The women’s team was ranked 25th in last week’s index, moving up five spots this week, thanks to Tianna Holmes’ 53.39s performance in the 400m dash on Saturday. Other qualifying bests to rank the team at 20th include Abbe Goldstein’s mile time last weekend (4:36.97) and the times of Adva Cohen, Emma Heckel, Gracelyn Larkin, Andrea Modin Engesaeth, and Amelia Mazza-Downie in the 5000m run event.
The men’s squad also moved up to 50th place, up nine spots from 59th in last week’s rating index. Jevon O’Bryant’s time in the 400m dash (46.54s), Matthew Larkin’s time in the 800m run (1:49.18) and Camillo Dunninger’s score in the heptathlon (5684 points) combined for 7.82 points to help move the Lobos up.
The Lobos will have a split squad this weekend. Some will stay home to compete in the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center, while some will travel to the Husky Classic on Saturday, hosted by the University of Washington.
