COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Zeroes were the order of the day for the Lobo women’s tennis team, putting up a bunch of them as the Lobos defeated Colorado College 7-0 in UNM’s season opener, in Colorado Springs.

The Lobos had recorded nine 6-0 sets out of a possible 15 on the day, including a perfect day from No. 1 player Yue Lin “Polly” Chen.  The Lobo fifth-year senior won 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, teaming with Myu Kagayama, and then she won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles over Magdalene Gonzalez.

In singles it was more of the same.  Albie Huang also won 6-0, 6-0, finishing just ahead of Chen’s match, and that made it 3-0.  Kageyamam technically recorded the clincher with a 6-1, 6-0 win, and freshman Sarah O’Connor in her first dual match won at No. 2 by the same score.
