Women’s Golf Set to Host Branch/McGuire Monday-Tuesday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico women’s golf team opens its 2021-22 season Monday-Tuesday as it hosts the 43rd Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational. The event at the 6,317-yard, par-72 UNM Championship Course is free for spectators to attend.

The first two rounds of the tournament will be played on Monday, beginning with a shotgun start at 7:30 a.m. The final round will be Tuesday, also starting with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start. Live scoring will be available on Golfstat.com.

This year’s tournament features 16 schools. Joining the host Lobos are BYU, Cal, Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Iowa, Kansas, New Mexico State, Oregon State, Pepperdine, San Diego State, San Jose State, Texas State and UNLV.

New Mexico’s lineup for the event is Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana, Lauren Lehigh, Tiana Cruz, Myah McDonald and Chloe Lauer. Serena Chon, Kamie Hamada, Caroline Jansson, Lisa-Marie Pagliano, Sophia Zamarripa, Alice Rindestig and Annie Saechueng will also compete as individuals.

The 43rd Annual Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational marks the 66th year that UNM has hosted a women’s golf event, dating back to 1956 in conjunction with the William H Tucker Invitational hosted by the UNM men’s team.
