Frerichs Wins Silver in Tokyo

TOKYO, Japan — Former Lobo Courtney Frerichs of The University of New Mexico Track and Field team claimed the silver medal in the women’s 3000m steeplechase in the Tokyo Olympics. Frerichs won her first Olympic medal while representing the United States in the event.

Frerichs registered a season-best time of 9:04.79. Her time was just under four seconds off of her personal best and American record time of 9:00.85.

Former Lobo Josh Kerr is set to compete in the semifinals of the 1500m race at 5:00 a.m. MT on August 5.
