Lobos Fall to Bulldogs in Final Game of Series

FRESNO, Calif.— For the second time in three games, Fresno State pitcher Hailey Dolcini got the better of The University of New Mexico softball team, keeping all 15 batters she faced off of the base paths and recording 12 strikeouts for her second no-hitter of the series.

The Lobos fell behind early with the leadoff hitter Kaitlyn Jennings reaching on a hit-by-pitch on the first pitch of the game, and moved around the bases on two passed balls, eventually stealing home for the first run of the game. The Lobos limited the damage, leaving two Bulldogs on base, with a total of eight runners left on base in the game.

However, two errors in the second led to six runs, all unearned, on five hits to break open the game, and the Bulldogs added seven runs on six hits in the fourth for the 14-0, five-inning final score.

UNM plays its next Mountain West series at home April 10 and 11 against Nevada.
