Lobos Take on Rebel Beach Invitational Monday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Fresh off of a sixth-place finish in its 2021 season opener, the University of New Mexico women’s golf team is back on the road as the squad travels to Las Vegas, Nev. to compete in the Rebel Beach Invitational Monday and Tuesday.

The Lobos will tee off at the Spanish Trail Country Club, a 6,400 yard, par-72 course, at 9:30 a.m. MT on Monday with a shotgun start. Day one will consist of the first two rounds, followed by round three on Tuesday.

The field is set to consist of 13 teams including BYU, Gonzaga, GCU, Iowa, Northern Arizona, SMU, Tulsa and UTSA as well as five Mountain West squads: Colorado State, Fresno State, New Mexico, Nevada and UNLV.

The Lobo lineup will feature sophomore Napat “Jenny” Lertsadwattana, senior Caroline Jansson, redshirt-senior Reva Morris, senior Serena Chon and sophomore Lauren Lehigh, while freshman Myah McDonald will compete as an individual.

The competition marks the return of Morris since the 2018-19 season after she missed the 2019-20 season to injury. Morris finished second on the team in 2018-19 with an average of 77.4 strokes per round.

Last week at the Lamkin Invitational, the Lobos finished sixth, led by Lertsadwattana who finished fourth among a field of 58 competitors. She also finished third in par-5 scoring (4.57, -4)) and tied for fifth in par-4 scoring (4.13, +4).

The Lobos will tee off at 8:30 a.m. PT/ 9:30 a.m. MT Monday and Tuesday. Fans can follow the Lobos LIVE via Live Stats.
