ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is set to travel to St. George, Utah to play Dixie State on Wednesday in a contest that was finalized Sunday. As part of the agreement, the Lobos will travel to UNLV and then return to St. George to host San José State in a pair of contests Jan. 21-23.

Wednesday’s game will be available to watch live, for free, on the WAC Digital Network while Live Stats will also be available.

The Lobos (3-6, 0-6 MW) enter the game coming off of a pair of disappointing losses to Utah State, but look to snap a six-win streak against the Trailblazers.

Dixie State (4-2, 0-0 WAC) has not played since Dec. 29 when it fell 112-67 to No. 1 Gonzaga on the road. The team has been able to play just six games so far on the season including wins at Denver and North Dakota while they have had three games canceled.

Dixie State is in its first year of NCAA Division I transition.

The Lobos are led by senior Makuach Maluach who averages 13.8 points per game on the season to go along with a team-high 5.9 rebounds per game.

Dixie State is led by four players averaging in double figures including junior Cameron Gooden (13.5), junior Jacob Nicolds (13.0), sophomore Frank Staine (12.4) and sophomore Isaiah Pope  (11.5). Leading rebounder for the Trailblazers is Nicolds who averages 6.8 per contest.
