Five Earn CSCAA Scholar All-America

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Coming off a record setting spring semester, five members of the Lobo swimming and diving team were named CSCAA Scholar All-America by the Collegiate Swim Coaches Association of America.

The five to earn Scholar All-America honors were swimmers Nicholle Toh and Hedda Øritsland and divers Natasha Dark, Jocelyn Gallais and Sara Rogers.  All but Dark return to the team in 2020-21.

All told, 35 swimmers in the Mountain West were honored as Scholar All-America, with UNM tied for second behind San Diego State with its five honorees.

Dark is the lone senior in the group, and she was a team captain in 2019-20, and she also represented her 2020 graduates by delivering the student keynote address as UNM’s virtual graduation ceremony.  She also served as the UNM Student-Athlete Advisory Council president last year.

Gallais and Rogers also are members of the diving squad.  Gallais earned All-Mountain West honors in the platform at the MW Championships in Minnesota in late February.

Toh was a two-time All-Mountain West selection as a freshman, and she also earned a Mountain West Swimmer of the Week award.  Toh was all-conference in both the 100 and 200-yard butterfly, and Øritsland was also a two-time all-conference honoree, in both the 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard free.
