Four Earn All-MW Honors in Men's Tennis

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Four Lobos earned All-Mountain West honors in men’s tennis as the league announced its end of season awards.  Dominic West and Stepan Holis were named All-Mountain West in singles and Jake Trondson and Raul Dobai were named to the team in doubles.  Overall 12 singles players were honored along with six doubles teams.

New Mexico tied for the most players honored in singles with two.  Despite the men’s tennis season ending eraly due to the COVID-19 crisis in the United States, the league announced 2020 honors.

West, a senior, was named All-Mountain West for a third time, and second in singles.  He played No. 1 for UNM during the spring and was nationally-ranked in the fall.  Holis was named All-Mountain West for a second straight season in singles as well. He was third on the team in singles wins with 11, and he played No. 2 singles in the spring.

Trondson was a senior transfer, and Dobai a freshman.  The pair led UNM with eight wins in doubles, including one nationally-ranked win.  The duo played No. 1 singles for the Lobos.
