UNM Places 25 on the MW Indoor T&F All-Conference Team

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—
Following the Mountain West Indoor Championships, The University of New Mexico track and field team had 25 all-conference selections as announced by the Mountain West on Monday.

The honorees were comprised of the top three finishers in each individual event and the top three relay teams in each event. Colorado State led the conference with 30 selections with UNM second overall. 

As a result, multiple Lobos received multiple selections, including Adva Cohen (DMR, mile), Carlos Salcido (400m, 4×400 relay), Jay Griffin IV (200m, 4×400 relay), Alejandro Goldston (200m, 60m) and Gavin Sleeter (800m, 4×400 relay).

The Lobo men finished third in the team standings with 120 points and the women finished fourth with 70.5 points.

Over the three-day meet, the Lobos produced nine event wins.

Up next for the Lobos is the NCAA Indoor Championships, held at the Albuquerque Convention Center March 13-14. Weini Kelati, Emily Martin and the distance medley relay (DMR) team of Elise Thorner, Adva Cohen, Abigail Bendle and Kelati will be running this Friday with Kelati and Martin in the 5000-meter final at 7:55 p.m. MT and the DMR at 8:45 p.m. MT. Kelati will close out the UNM entries on Saturday in the 3000-meter final at 6:25 p.m. MT. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
