Emily Meinert is in her first season with the women’s basketball program at New Mexico after joining UNM in 2024. Prior to her arrival in Albuquerque, Meinert was the assistant strength and conditioning coach at University of Louisiana Monroe, where she worked with women’s basketball, softball and men’s and women’s golf.
She graduated with a master’s degree in applied exercise science from ULM and served as a graduate assistant at ULM from July 2023 to August 2024. While at ULM, she oversaw women’s basketball, volleyball, beach volleyball and tennis while assisting with football.
A student-athlete herself, Meinert played basketball for three years at Northern Illinois University, while also interning with the strength and conditioning department. At NIU, she assisted in daily roles and responsibilities with the strength and conditioning department. Before attending NIU, Meinert played basketball at Parkland College from 2018-2020 and graduated with an associate’s degree in 2020.
Meinert graduated with a bachelor’s degree from NIU in May 2022.
