Charisse Williams joined the UNM athletic department in June of 2025 and is in her first season at the athletic performance coach for the Lobo men’s basketball program. She came to New Mexico after working with the women’s basketball program at UNLV.

Williams spent the past three seasons at UNLV, working with the women’s basketball and women’s soccer programs. During her time in Vegas, the Rebels were the dominant women’s basketball program in the Mountain West, winning three straight regular season titles, two conference tournament titles and posting a 49-3 league record.

Prior to her time at UNLV, Williams spent a year as an assistant sport performance coach at UC San Diego, working primarily with Olympic sports but also assisting with Olen’s men’s basketball program and the women’s basketball program at UCSD. She got her start working in collegiate athletics as an strength and conditioning intern at her alma mater, Lindenwood University in Missouri, while also working as a strength and conditioning coach with Saint Louis Scott Gallagher, a youth soccer club.

A native of St. Louis, Mo., Williams was a four-year letterwinner as a guard on the women’s basketball team at Lindenwood from 2015-19. A two-year captain, she started 96 career games for the Lions and earned honorable mention all-conference honors as a senior. Williams earned her bachelor’s in exercise science, with a minor in strength and conditioning, from Lindenwood in 2019. She earned a masters in kinesiology, with a concentration in sport performance, from Point Loma Nazarene in 2022.
