UNM Athletics Department Policy Regarding Sale and Distribution of Alcohol
The following policy shall govern the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages at UNM Athletics facilities.
- All sales of alcohol shall comply with local, state and federal law and with UNM policy, including but not limited to UAP 2140.
- Alcoholic beverages may be sold and dispensed at stationary locations and within seating areas at the discretion of the AD and UNM’s official food and beverage provider (“Concessionaire”).
- All alcohol sales shall be conducted by UNM’s Concessionaire and the terms of sale, unless superseded by this policy, shall be set by UNM’s Concessionaire.
- Patrons may not bring alcoholic beverages into UNM facilities.
- No person under the age of 21 may purchase or consume alcohol at UNM facilities.
- Any person who wishes to purchase alcohol at a UNM facility must provide a valid form of identification in accordance with local, state and federal law.
- No person may purchase more than two (2) alcoholic beverages per transaction, per valid I.D.
- No person may purchase more than four (4) alcoholic beverages per event.
- UNM’s Concessionaire shall retain the right to discontinue alcohol service at any time per its discretion.
- Designated stop times for the sale of alcohol are as follows:
- Football: Start of the 4th quarter
- Basketball (men’s and women’s): 10 minutes left in the second half
- Baseball: End of the bottom of the 7th inning
- Softball: Beginning of the sixth inning
- Other Sports and Events: At discretion of UNM’s concessions provide
