2016-17 Men's Basketball Non-Conference Schedule Released
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team has released its non-conference schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 season.

The non-conference portion of the schedule is highlighted by six home games and the 2016 Wooden Legacy tournament. The Lobos open with three home games early, but will be tested in December, with four of seven games are scheduled on the road.
The Lobos tipoff the regular season at home on Nov. 11 against Idaho State. New Mexico will host two more home games before their non-conference tournament, bringing in Houston Baptist on Nov. 14 and New Mexico State on Nov. 18, beginning the Rio Grande Rivalry.
The Wooden Legacy will be held from Nov. 24-27 with games taking place in Fullerton, California and Anaheim, California. Joining the Lobos in the field are California-Northridge, Dayton, Nebraska, Portland, Texas A&M, UCLA and Virginia Tech.
The Lobos return to WisePies Arena on Nov. 30 to host Abilene Christian, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first game played in the legendary arena on Dec. 1, 1966. The Lobos return to the road to take part in the Mountain West-Missouri Valley Challenge, facing Illinois State on Dec. 3.
On Dec. 7, the Lobos will host former rival UTEP at home. Three days later, the Lobos travel to Las Cruces to complete the Rio Grande Rivalry against New Mexico State. The Lobos’ final non-conference home game is set for Dec. 17 against Arkansas Pine Bluff. Finally, non-conference play ends with a marquee road game at Arizona on Dec. 20.
