New Mexico: Switched from wide receiver to tight end … saw time in 2015 at both tight end and on special teams … a 2015 Spring Camp Hard Hat winner, finishing top 10 … awarded a scholarship during fall camp.

2015 (Redshirt Junior Season): Saw action in 13 games, serving as a blocking tight end on offense and on UNM’s special teams units … recorded five special teams tackles, including two each in games against Utah State and Boise State … also had a tackle against Mississippi Valley State.

2014 (Redshirt Sophomore Season): Saw action in one game for the Lobos, in the season finale.

2013 (Sophomore Season): Redshirted.

Wayland Baptist: Started at safety for the Pioneers in 2012 and had 38 tackles, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery for coach Butch Henderson … Wayland Baptist is an NAIA school. … earned the Pioneer Effort Award for 12 consecutive weeks.

High School: A second-team All-District 2-5A selection his senior season at quarterback for La Cueva High School and Bears coach Ed Lucero in 2011 … earned Academic All-State honors in 2011 … a second-team all-district safety in 2010 … lettered three years in football … also lettered four years in track and field and was a member of the 2011 state championship track and field team.

Personal: Born Sept. 20, 1993 in Albuquerque … parents are Pam and Matt Walsh … has two sisters, Steffani and Kessi Walsh … grandfather James Johnson attended UNM from 1962-66 and played basketball … likes snowboarding and skateboarding … favorite food is spaghetti … favorite movie is “Friday Night Lights” … favorite athlete is Dez Bryant … majoring in liberal arts.
