NEW MEXICO: Returning quarterback who got thrown into the in the fall of 2012 after arriving that August … a strong-armed passer with a season behind him, should have his feet on the ground and be more comfortable in the system … his experience will be an asset in 2014 with more QBs on the roster.

2013: Redshirted.

2012 (SOPHOMORE): Played in six games for the Lobos due to injuries to the top two quarterbacks, B.R. Holbrook and Cole Gautsche, during the course of the season … completed 4 of 11 passes for 26 yards with one touchdown and one interception … the TD pass came on a career-long 19-yard play to wide receiver Lamaar Thomas vs. Fresno State … also had eight rushes for seven yards on the season.

JUNIOR COLLEGE Played for Modesto Junior College in Modesto, Calif., and coach Sam Young from 2010-2012…had 2500 total yards, with 500 of them being rushing yards and 28 touchdowns as a freshman…finished the season with a record of 8-3.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Hilmar HS in Hilmar, Calif., played for Head Coach Frank Marques…was a two-time All-League Quarterback and a three-time All-League basketball player…was also on the Honor Roll four times.

PERSONAL: Born September 28, 1991 in Turleck, Calif….full name is Quinton Colby McCown…son of Annette and Kevin McCown…has two siblings, an older brother, Justin (23) and a younger sister, Rylee (18)…hobbies include being outdoors or anything involving sports…favorite food athletes are Tom Brady and LeBron James…intended major is Communications.
