Chris Massoletti enters his second year as an assistant coach with the New Mexico men’s golf team. Before joining the Lobos, Massoletti coached for St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, where he was the head coach of both the men’ and women’s golf programs for the previous three seasons.
While at St. Mary’s, Massoletti lead the men’s program to three consecuative regional apperances.
One of the best seasons in the women’s program history came in 2015-16, when his squad won the Heartland Conference for the first time in 12 years. In addition his womens program also qualified for the NCAA South Central Regional.
Before becoming a staff member at St. Mary’s, Massoletti was a volunteer assistant at St. Edward’s for the men’s golf team for two seasons.
Massoletti, hails from Chico, Calif., where he was a NCAA Division II Second Team All-American at California State University Chico. His first two years of collegiate golf were at Cal. State Univ. Chico, however he transfered to Texas A&M as a junior prior to the 2005-2006 season. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree 2008 and promptly turned professional, his professional career included making 12 of 19 cuts.
Massoletti began as an instructor at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock, Texas, and started coaching on the collegiate level as a volunteer assistant at St. Edward’s in 2011.
