Carson Walch, a veteran coach with extensive experience at both the collegiate and professional levels, joined the Lobo Family in February of 2026 and serves as the Passing Game Coordinator/Receivers Coach.
Walch has spent the past five seasons with the Cleveland Browns, first as the Director of Player Development and, for three seasons, as the Director of Offensive Skill Development, working with receivers, quarterbacks, running backs, and tight ends.
He has coached numerous NFL All-Pros and standouts, including Brandon Marshall, Alshon Jeffrey, Desean Jackson, Nelson Agholor, and Mack Hollins.
In the NFL, Walch has also had stints with the Chicago Bears in 2013-14 as assistant receivers and offensive quality control coach, and with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 as assistant receivers coach and in 2019 as receivers coach.
Walch has Division I FBS experience with the Minnesota Gophers, serving as an offensive passing game consultant in 2015 and 2020. He started his career with Winona State and has also coached at Dakota State and St. Thomas. He also has extensive CFL experience with the Montreal Alouettes and the Edmonton Eskimos.
Walch was a standout All-American running back, receiver, and return specialist for Winona State University from 1996 to 1999. He earned All-America honors in 1998 and 1999, and he was named All-Conference at running back, receiver, punt returner, and kick returner over the 1998 and 1999 seasons. Overall, he scored 33 total touchdowns, and he still sits fifth on the all-time all-purpose yardage list at Winona with 4,826 yards. In 1999, Walch was a Regional Harlon Hill Finalist as the top Division II player in the nation.
