NEW MEXICO: A veteran safety who has played a lot of football for the Lobos … is capable of playing both free and strong safety … equally valuable on special teams … worked hard in the offseason and is poised to play his best football as a senior in 2013 … a steady, in-state product who has the potentai of helping UNM’s other defensive players to focus on their onw jobs …last name is pronounced CAH-row.

2013 (SENIOR): Appeared in all 12 games, including 11 starts, and finished with 53 total tackles (24 solo, 29 assist) … recovered a fumble, broke up a pass and intercepted one pass … in the season opener vs. UTSA he led the team with eight tackles, and followed that up with seven tackles the next week at UTEP … at Pitt on Sept. 14 he intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble and made four tackles … totaled seven stops at San Diego State on Nov. 2 … finished his career with 93 total tackles in 36 appearances (19 starts).

2012 (JUNIOR): Played in 12 games for the Lobos and finished the season with 12 tackles … made one solo tackle against UNLV on Nov. 3 … appeared in his 20th career game for the Lobos against Fresno State on Oct. 27 … tied for second on the team with five tackles (four solo, one assist) at Texas Tech on Sept. 15 … made one solo tackle against No. 17 Texas on Sept. 8 … led the Lobos with five total tackles against Southern on Sept. 1.

2011 (SOPHOMORE): Played in 12 games, starting eight, for the Lobos …had four four-tackle games during the season…best game came at No. 13 Arkansas in week two with four tackles, one forced fumble and fumble recovery…also had four tackles in week three against Texas Tech, week six at Nevada and week eight against Air Force…also forced a fumble against the Falcons…made his first career reception in the season finale at No. 8 Boise State…also returned nine kicks for 172 yards (a 19.1-yard average per return)…had a long of 38 yards against No. 13 Arkansas.

2010 (REDSHIRT FRESHMAN): Played in 11 games…had eight kick returns for 182 yards…had his career long return of 48 yards against Colorado State on Oct. 30…mostly a special teams player…had two tackles during the year.

HIGH SCHOOL: Starting quarterback for the 2008 Class 5A state champion Bulldawgs … the Bulldawgs were 13-0 in ’08, winning the class 5A championship game 26-21 over Albuquerque Eldorado … LCHS was state semi-finalists in 2007 and was 23-2 his last two years … 2008 Mr. Football award winner by nmprepsrivals.com … nominated for the Joe Montana top QB in the Nation award, and was ranked in the top 100 at that position … completed 68% of his passes for 1,986 yards, 16 TDs and 3 interceptions as a senior … added 1,000 yards rushing on 94 carries (10.6 avg.), with 14 TDs … 76% completion percentage, 1,302 yards passing, 10 TDs and 3 interceptions as a junior, plus 1,423 yards rushing on 146 carries (9.8 avg.) with 15 TDs … a two-year starter and a three-year letterman for head coach Jim Miller … starting point guard for the Bulldawg basketball team the final two years and an outfielder for the baseball team in 2008.
