2024 (Redshirt Sophomore Season, Idaho): Played in seven games, missing a portion of the early season with an injury … still threw for 1,472 yards and 14 touchdowns in basicall six games, missing most of the Portland State game … was 100-for-155 passing, completing 64.5% of his passes … had 14 touchdowns to four interceptions … rushed for 23 yards on 25 carries … opened the season with 168 yards passing and a touchdown, and a 6-yard touchdown run in a 24-14 loss to evnetual No. 1 Oregon … missed almost two months with an injury but returned for complete 60.7% of his passes against Eastern Washington, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns … was 18-for-27 with three TDs and 283 yards passing against Weber State … had a second-straight three-TD game, this on a season-best 78.3% completion rate (18-for-23) and 229 yards against Idaho State in the Battle of the Domes … had a season-high 318 yards passing and three more TDs against Lehing in the FCS Playoffs First Round … was 20-for-30 for 239 and a pair of TDs against No. 1 Montana State.

2023 (Redshirt Freshman Season, Idaho): Appeared in eight games as the Vandals back-up quarterback … started against Idaho State and put on a standout performance going 20-26 on pass attempts, throwing for 275 yards, and racking up six passing touchdowns … recorded a total of 325 passing yards and 52 rushing yards on the season … went 25-32 on passes in the season and tallied a total of eight touchdowns … also rushed for 52 yards and caught a 26-yard pass.

2022 (Freshman Season, Idaho):  Played in three games for the Vandals, with one start, preserving his redshirt … finished the season with 368 yards passing and a touchdown while throwing 24-for-37 (64.9%) … made his collegiate debut against Drake going 6-for-8 for 113 yards … earned a start as a true freshman, starting against Idaho State in the stead of injured Gevani McCoy and went 18-for-29 for 255 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Vandal win.

High School: Layne was named the Gatorade Player of the Year and first-team all-state for Lake Oswego … he completed 72 percent of his passes, threw for 3,400 yards and 44 touchdowns while only throwing four interceptions … won a state championship with the Lakers in 2018 … was a member of the National Honor Society
