REDSHIRT JUNIOR (2015): Tied for the team lead in appearances with 25 after not pitching in 2014 … went 2-2 with one save and a 5.28 ERA over 30.2 innings … struck out 22 … earned his save by striking out three in 3.0 scoreless innings of relief against Oregon State on Feb. 16 … had a streak of 7.2 scoreless innings between Feb. 16 and March 14 … first win came vs. No. 19 Texas Tech on March 31 when he tossed 1.1 scoreless innings … struck out a season-high five in a season-long 3.2 innings vs. Air Force on April 11 to earn his second win … earned Academic All-District honors from CoSIDA and was also named to UNM’s All-Academic Team.

JUNIOR (2015): Redshirt season

SOPHOMORE (2013): Appeared in 17 games, including five starts, and went 0-1 with a 6.68 ERA and one save … earned his save by allowing only two runs in the final three innings at Air Force on April 6 … allowed two earned runs or fewer in 14 of his 17 outings … his best outing came when he started the second game of a doubleheader against Nevada on March 24 … tied a season-high by going four innings and allowed two runs on three hits with three strikeouts … struck out a career-high four at New Mexico St. on April 1 … was one of a record 16 players on the team to be named Academic All-Mountain West and was also named a Mountain West Scholar-Athlete for a second straight season.

FRESHMAN (2012): Made six appearances, all in relief … made collegiate debut on Feb. 19 against Nevada … recorded a 2.89 ERA in his 9.1 innings of work … pitched two innings and struck out two against Stephen F. Austin on Mar. 28, Texas Tech on Apr. 24, and New Mexico St. on May 15 … allowed only one run over his last eight innings of work.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 12, 1993, in Las Vegas, Nev., to Jackie and Frankie Estrella … has an older brother, Chris, and an older sister, Samantha … attended Sierra Vista High School in Las Vegas where he was a first team all-state outfielder, and a first team all-region pitcher … received the National Academic-Athlete Army Reserve Award in 2011 … double majoring in economics and finance … favorite athletes are Matt Ryan and Justin Verlander … favorite movie is The Hangover.
