
Davidson joined the Lobo family in February of 2025 as he serves as the General Manager, the first G.M. in Lobo Football History. He came to UNM bringing tremendous experience in coaching, including five years in the player personnel and roster building space.
PREVIOUS STOPS
MEMPHIS (2024): Davidson was at Memphis in 2024 where he served as the General Manager. With the Tigers, he helped build a team that finished in the AP Top 25 and secured the #1 recruiting class in the AAC, winning the American Athletic Conference championship and then won the Scooter’s Coffee Frisco Bowl over West Virginia.
GEORGIA TECH (2023): Served as Director of Player Personnel for the Yellow Jackets, helping to develop a roster that finished fourth in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets picked up a pair of nationally ranked wins including a wild win with two seconds left in the game to beat No. 17 and unbeaten Miami 23-20.
Georgia Tech won the 2023 Gasparilla Bowl over UCF, giving the Yellow Jackets their first winning season since 2018.
TEXAS TECH (2022): Served as Director of Player Personnel for first-year head coach Joey McGuire at Texas Tech where the Red Raiders finished fourth in the Big XII. In his lone year, the Red Raiders went 8-5 overall and 5-4 in the Big XII after finishing ninth in the preseason poll.
UCONN (2021): Spent one season as the Director of Player Personnel for Connecticut.
VIRGINIA TECH (2018-20): Spent three seasons at Virginia Tech, the first two as an offensive quality control coach and the third as Director of Player Personnel. While with the Hokies, VT played in two bowl games and only missed a bowl in the COVID season of 2020. Virginia Tech had four players drafted from the 2020 team including a pair of first round picks in Caleb Farley (22nd to Tennessee) and Christian Darrisaw (23rd to Minnesota).
HOWARD PAYNE (2017): Spent one season at Howard Payne University, a Division III school in Texas.
NORTHEASTERN STATE (2016): Coached the defensive line and served as the video coordinator for Northeastern State.
TRINITY VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (2008): Was an offensive line coach and run game coordinator for Trinity Valley Community College. From here he moved to the high school ranks coaching in a variety of roles. He also taught as a chemistry and special education teacher.
NORTH TEXAS (2007): Joined the collegiate coaching ranks as a graduate assistant at his alma mater.
PLAYING CAREER – NORTH TEXAS (2003-06): Played at North Texas, earning three letters as a tight end and long snapper. North Texas was also his father Greg’s alma mater. Greg played three seasons for the Houston Oilers.
