It pays to be a winner.  There is a cost to it for certain, but there is also a definite payback as well.

Fun.  Winning is fun, and it sure beats losing.  Evan Butts, UNM’s Director of Recruiting and former player under Bronco Mendenhall, has lived it.  “Winning is more fun that losing,” said Butts.  But Evan understands it’s not just winning games … it’s everything that is enhanced by winning.

“What you are trying to get out to the masses, it carries more weight,” said Butts.  “Not just notoriety, but in gathering support from the community and getting your message out.”
