COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Seven University of New Mexico track & field athletes were selected to the Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field All-Conference men’s and women’s teams on Monday.

The Lobos, who received a fourth-place finish from the men and a ninth-place finish from women during the MW Outdoor Championships last week in Logan, Utah, saw four men claim six total honors, while three women posted three total selections.

All-Mountain West selections are awarded to the top three finishers in each event at the conference championships.

For the men, Josh Kerr led the way with two all-conference selections, one for his title in the 1,500-meter run and the second for his win in the 800. Graham Thomas (3,000-meter steeplechase/5000) also netted two selections.

Additionally, Sam Trigg (triple jump) and Daniel Lam (decathlon) captured all-conference honors.

On the women’s side, two titlists were accorded honors, with Alice Wright in the 5000 and Jannell Hadnot in the triple jump. Kyra Mohns captured an all-conference accolade in the 400 hurdles.

The Lobos’ next competition will be the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas, on May 25-27. Declarations for the West Prelims will be announced Thursday, May 18.
