Men’s Tennis Hosts San Diego State in Final Home Match

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s tennis team welcomes all Lobo fans to come out and spend Easter Sunday with them.
 
Before the match, the Loren Dils Fundraiser BBQ will take place at the McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium starting at 11 a.m. MT. After the BBQ, the team is set to host Senior Day against the Aztecs of San Diego State in their final home match of the season at 1 p.m. MT. The Lobos will honor teammate Rodolfo Jauregui in his last home match of the season.
 
The Lobos (10-11, 3-2 MW) are coming off a 4-2 loss to UNLV on Friday afternoon while San Diego State (6-14, 2-3 MW) is coming off a 4-2 win over Air Force also on Friday. San Diego State’s win over Air Force is the team’s first win after a nine match loss streak.
 
For the Lobos, Bart Van Leijsen and Dominic West lead the team in doubles with a 10-5 overall record. They are followed by Sean Baklini and Jauregui with a 7-3 overall record. For the Aztecs, Marko Goles-Babic and Milen Ianakiev lead the team with a 6-2 overall doubles record.
 
In singles, Ricky Hernandez-Tong (18-10 overall), Jorge Escutia (12-9 overall) and Jauregui (12-13 overall) lead the squad in wins. Goles-Babic (12-10 overall) and Ianakiev (11-11 overall) also lead the Aztecs in singles wins.
