High Hopes for Lobos in Last Day of Invitational

Midland, TX—The men’s tennis team took on the second day of the Midland invitational today in Texas. Hayden Sabatka and Bart Van Leijsen defeated Reese Stadler and Gregory Anderson of Texas Christian University 6-4 in the second round of doubles play.
 
Also adding two singles wins for the Lobos today was Van Leijsen. Sabatka  put up a hard fight but fell to John Mee of University of Texas 6-3. 6-2 in the quarterfinal match of his flight.
 
“We will come back tomorrow and try and get better again. The guys worked really hard today,” said assistant coach Ben Dunbar. “Van Leijsen is starting to hit some form and hopefully he can go well tomorrow in his singles and doubles with Sabatka. The fall is all about getting better and we have plenty of things to take back to Albuquerque with us to work on.”
 
The Lobos finish the Midland Invitational tomorrow before heading back home.
