The Lobos also had multiple round wins from Hayden Sabatka, who defeated Josua Sheely of Abilene Christine 7-6, 4-6, 6-1 in the first round and Haru Inoue of Wichita State 6-7, 6-4, 6-2 in the second round of his flight.

“It was good to see the guys compete for the first time this fall season today and there was some good tennis played,” said assistant coach Ben DunBar. “We certainly learned a lot about ourselves, about our level and how we can improve. Tomorrow we need to toughen up our play, remember that this is college tennis and enjoy the challenge.”

Dunbar said he has no doubt that the guys will raise their energy, focus and commitment for Saturday. The Lobos continue their play in Midland Invitational tomorrow and Sunday.
