Appeared in 65 sets over 26 matches, recording multiple kills in 11 appearances … Appeared in each of the Lobos’ last 15 matches of the season … Hit above .300 in four matches … Added 23 total blocks … season-high 5 TB in UNM’s four-set win on the road SDSU (10/7) … Posted new career-highs in kills (40), digs (31) and points (52).

2022-23 (Freshman) 

Played in 18 matches and 54 sets with six starts … finished with 36 kills, 19 digs, 28 total blocks (two solo, 26 assisted) and 51.0 points… season-high eight kills at Air Force and a season-high four total blocks at Nevada… named MW Scholar-Athlete and to the MW All-Academic Team.

HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from Riverside High School… member of the National Society of High School Scholars…Riverside HS National Honor Society candidate for three years… member of the 10 Foot Club… named to the AVCA Phenom List… played club ball for Sudden Impact Volleyball, Paramount Volleyball Club.

PERSONAL: Born Aug. 25 in Dayton, Ohio… parents are John Payne and Angela Brown… has three siblings:  Michaela, Aubrey and Norah.

ON WHY UNM: The coaching staff is passionate, driven, and is going to win the Mountain West Conference. They have established a tight-knit program full of support for one another. New Mexico itself is a diverse, culturally abundant city with lots to offer. New Mexico is a place I can confidently say feels like home, and it will push me to become the best version of myself.
