University of Birmingham: 2022 British University indoor champion…2022 England U23 champion in the long jump…2022 England Senior Championship runner-up in the long jump…in the summer of 2022 competed in four meets with a season-best mark of 7.50 meters on July 31 at the England Athletics Senior Championships…in the winter of 2022 competed in six meets with a season-best mark of 7.50 meters on Feb. 20 at the BUCS British University Championships…won 4 of 6 meets he competed in…during the 2021 outdoor season competed in nine different meets in the long jump…posted a season-best mark of 7.42 meters on July 24 at the Kings Park Athletics Centre Relaunch…heat winner in three meets he competed in…during 2020 modified season competed in the long jump in five meets…heat winner on Feb. 5 at the Inter Varsity Meeting…posted a season-best leap of 7.00 meters on Feb. 15 at the Bucs Indoor Championships…in the summer of 2019 competed in six meets with a season-best mark of 7.10 meters on June 22 at the England Athletics U20…in the winter of 2019 competed in five meets with a season-best mark of 7.25 meters on Feb. 24 at the England U20 meet.

Burkey on choosing UNM: “I chose UNM as I wanted to experience the NCAA. It is a program with a great pedigree, and it has a very strong team right now. Speaking with Coach Bob (Thurnhoffer), I knew we would work really well together so that was probably the most important factor.”
