Prior to UNM
Van Leijsen comes to UNM from Drenthe, Netherlands. He is a right-handed player who has a strong serve and an impressive all-court game. He has competed in several international events throughout his career including the Leeuwenbergh ITF 4 Junior Championships, the 2013 Biesterbos Open, and the 2013 ITF Euro Holding Bytom Cup.
Personal
He is the son of Niek and Annemarie Van Leijsen and brother to Tom (20) and Laura (18). Both of his parents played volleyball in the best division in Holland. Van Leijsen plans on studying international business while at UNM. When he’s not playing tennis, he enjoys watching soccer and movies, playing video games, and hanging out with friends.
