Indoor Track & Field (Freshman): Opened with a 7:56.26 at the Boston Opener on Dec. 7, placing 33rd overall … Earned MW Athlete & Freshman of the Week honors for that performance … Followed up with a program record in the Mile at the MLK Invite on Jan. 25, crossing in 3:58.60 for a 3:53.40 conversion that stands as a new UNM program record … One of only seven athletes in collegiate history to dip under the four-minute mark at altitude … Earned his second MW Athlete & Freshman of the Week awards the following Tuesday.
Cross Country (Freshman): USTFCCCA First Team All-American …. All-MW First Team … MW Freshman of the Week (10/22) … Opened his collegiate career with an 11th-place finish at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree on Sept. 28 (23:58.0) … Finished 26th at Wisconsin Pre-Nats on Oct. 19 (23:15.7) … Finished third as the Lobo men went 1-5 at MW Championships on Nov. 1 (23:52.6) … Finished 16th at Mountain Regionals in his first collegiate 10K (29:40.3) before shaving almost 18 seconds off that time at NCAA Championships to finish 35th (29:22.6) and earn First Team All-American honors.
