2012 XC: Competed unattached twice for the Lobos … ran at the Lobo Invitational and Kachina Classic, placing 33rd (20:39.2) and 22nd (26.58), respectively.
2013 Indoors: Opened the season unattached, racing to times of 4:17.52* in the mile and 8:31.17* in the 3000 … did compete attached at the Mountain West Championships, where he placed 11th in the 3000 (8:33.39) and helped the men’s distance medley relay team to fourth in the 800-meter leg.
2013 Outdoors: Competed in earnest outdoors, where he saw action at six meets … started off at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival, where he placed fifth in his section of the 1500 with a time of 3:55.58 … ran both the 800 (1:55.85*) and the 3000 steeplechase (9:44.48*) at the Don Kirby Tailwind Invitational, placing 17th and 12th, respectively … claimed runner-up honors in the metric mile at the Air Force Invitational (3:54.50*) … ran a 3:59.06 time in the 1500 at the Beach Invitational to place 41st … just bettered his collegiate best in the steeplechase at the Brutus Hamilton Invitational, where he placed sixth with a time of 9:44.33 … just missed out on scoring in the 5000 at the Mountain West Championships, placing ninth in 9:55.86 … also competed in the 1500 at the MW Championships, placing 13th (4:00.77).
HIGH SCHOOL
Competed at Dulce HS in Dulce, N.M. … won the 800 at the 2012 Class AA state championships with a time of 2:01.59 … took second in the 1600 at the same meet with a 4:23.62 time … claimed eighth in the 800 at the state meet his junior year … also played football and basketball at Dulce.
