JUNIOR (2013):Drafted 12th overall in the MLB Draft by the Seattle Mariners, becoming UNM’s highest draft pick ever … named NCBWA’s District VIII Player of the Year … was a first team All-American, becoming UNM’s first ever three-time All-American in the process, and Mountain West Co-Player of the Year for a second straight season … also a semifinalist for both the Dick Howser Trophy and the Golden Spikes Award … won the MW overall triple crown for a second straight year by hitting .408 with 18 home runs and 72 RBI … also knocked 25 doubles and four triples while scoring 68 runs … had phenomenal series vs. UC Riverside March 8-10 as he went 12-15 with two doubles, a triple, four home runs, nine runs and six RBI to earn Mountain West Player of the Week honors … was second on the team with 26 multi-hit games and tied for the team lead with 18 multi-RBI games … finished the season on a 17-game hitting streak during which he went 28-66 (.424) with five doubles, a triple and five home runs while scoring 21 runs and driving in 19 … failed to reach base at least once in only one game all season, which was the second game of a doubleheader against Missouri St. on March 19.
