2015-16 (Junior Season)
*Named All-Mountain West in both singles and doubles.
*Went 16-19 in singles on the season, picking up nine wins at the No. 1 slot.
*Had a four-match winning streak from March 5 to March 12, and had another match in that streak unfinished that he was winning.
*Advanced to the tough of 16 in the USTA/ITA singles Regional.
*Went 27-13 in doubles play, the second-most doubles wins on the team.
*Mostly teamed with Bart Van Leijsen, going 13-4 with him at No. 1 doubles, and 14-4 overall at No. 1.
*Paired up with Van Leijsen, advancing to the semifinals of the ITA Indoor Championships in New York City.
*Defeated Georgia’s Ben Wagland and Austin Smith, the nation’s No.1 ranked team, winning 6-4, 6-2.
*Advanced in doubles to the NCAA Tournament, dropping a first round match.
*Finished the season strong with four wins in his last five doubles matches.
*Named Mountain West All-Academic.
2014-15 (Sophomore Season)
*Went 16-16 at singles, but was 9-5 in his customary No. 2 slot.
*In doubles play, posted a 17-8 record, competing mainly with Bart Van Leijsen.
*He went 14-4 at the No.1 position.
*Teamed with Bart Van Leijsen for an eight-game wininng streak, a team-high for the season.
*Was named Mountain West Academic All-Conference for his accomplishments in the classroom.
2013-14 (Freshman Season)
*Posted an overall singles record of 24-12.
*His seventeen victories are tied for the most Spring wins and he competed primarily in the No. 2 position.
*Went 17-12 in doubles, competing mainly with Rodolfo Jauregui and Andrew Van Der Vyver.
*Was named the Mountain West Male Freshman of the Year.
*He was also named to the 2014 All-Conference team in singles.
*Finished the season ranked 9th in the ITA Mountain Region singles rankings.
*Was named to the 2014 Academic All-Conference team and a 2014 MW Scholar-Athlete.
*Sabatka was also named a 2014 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete.
Prior to UNM
*A graduate of the Insight School of Colorado.
*Won the Class 5A No. 1 singles state title during his junior and senior years (2011 and 2012).
*Went undefeated as a junior and a senior in singles.
*Finished in third place in the state championship during his freshman and sophomore year.
*Named the Denver Post Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012.
*Also named to the Colorado Community Media All-Star tennis team in singles in 2012. *His four year high school-tennis record was 82-3.
*Best national ranking in the USTA 18’s category was 41 and he was ranked No. 1 the entire year in the Intermountain Section.
*The Tennis Recruiting Network ranked him at No. 35 in the nation in recruit rankings and also honored him as a five star recruit.
Personal
*The son of Darrell and Cathy Sabatka and the younger brother of Heather and Holly Sabatka.
*His mother, Cathy, played volleyball at Utah State University and his grandfather was an All-American tennis player at the Universtiy of Oklahoma.
*When not playing tennis, Sabatka enjoys playing ping-pong and hanging out with his friends.
