Pamela Kosgei ran the second-fastest 10K in collegiate history and Habtom Samuel recorded the nation's leading 10K time to highlight a flurry of strong season-opening distance marks for New Mexico Track & Field on Day One at the Stanford Invitational and Mike Fanelli Classic in the Bay Area on Friday.

In total, UNM athletes recorded 10 new personal bests on Friday between the two meets in Palo Alto and San Francisco, with eight of them ranking among the Top 10 in program history on the UNM Outdoor All-Time lists.

The Lobos return to action for Day Two of competition at both meets tomorrow. No live stream will be available for this weekend's competition, with live results via GoLobos.com/TrackResults – follow @UNMLoboXCTF on IG and X for meetday updates, behind-the-scenes content and more.

3. Joshua Abraham - 3:39.55*

That mark should easily move him into qualifying position for regionals and bumps teammate Collins Kiprotich’s 3:40.83 converted time from last weekend into the No. 10 spot on the UNM list.

It was the first sub-16 minute performance of her collegiate career and makes it back-to-back All-Time Top 10 marks after she moved into the outdoor 1,500m list at No. 6 last Saturday at the NM Spring Invitational.

Jasmine Wood also posted a significant improvement, taking 7.34 seconds off her previous indoor best (15:58.41) and 21.63 seconds off her fastest time outdoors to cross 12th.
