ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobos return home to host UC Davis on Sunday at 1 p.m. MT.
Sunday’s match will be streamed on MW+ with live stats available.
Both UNM and UC Davis enter the match 2-2-0 in conference play with the Aggies on a two-match winning streak following wins against Wyoming and Grand Canyon and the Lobos losing their last two matches against Grand Canyon and Colorado College.
SERIES VS. UC DAVIS
UNM is 1-2-1 all-time against UC Davis with the last match in 2021. UNM is 0-0-1 in matches at home, a 0-0 tie in 2013.
The last two matches have been 1-0 losses with UNM winning the first meeting in 2012, 2-0.
The goals have been even in the series with each team scoring two goals.
DOWN, BUT NOT OUT
Twice this season, the Lobos have trailed and come back to win.
UNM trailed 2-1 after Northern Colorado scored 1:06 into the second half, but responded to score three goals in a span of 3:42 in the final 20 minutes for the 4-2 win.
Savanah Sanchez tied the match at the 71:19 mark with Angelina Moschetti scoring the game-winning goal off of a free kick at 72:53. Presley Devey closed the scoring with a goal at 75:01.
Devey scored the first goal of the match 20:49 in, her second multiple-goal match in her career.
Moschetti scored her first goal as a Lobo and second collegiate goal, and Sanchez scored her first goal of the season.
UNM faced another deficit in the match against Nevada, trailing 2-0 at the half, and responded with five goals in the second half for the win.
GO THE DISTANCE
In the 11 matches, Morgan Juran has played the full 990 minutes, the only Lobo to do so.
Last season, Juran played 90 minutes in 14 of the 19 matches, and in her three years at UNM, has played the full 90 in 30 matches. Counting her freshman season at Elon, she’s played 90 minutes 38 times throughout her collegiate career.
Kennedy Brown played 90 minutes 16 times last season and in a total of 35 matches in her time as a Lobo. Brown has also started every match the last three years and the last 61 matches. She played the full 90 minutes in five matches this season plus 88 against Grand Canyon.
Fiona Jenkins played 90 minutes in eight matches last season and 34 times in her four years as a Lobo. She played the full 90 matches in six matches this season.
Gabby Beaudry recently joined the list, playing the full 90 minutes in three consecutive matches (CSUN, Colorado and Northern Colorado) and in the last three. She’s played the full time seven times in her time as a Lobo, going 90 minutes last year at Oregon.
Macie Harris played the full 90 minutes against Idaho State and six times in the last two years.
ABOUT THE OPPONENT
UC Davis is 4-7-2 on the season, 2-2-0 in the Mountain West and 1-5-1 on the road.
The Aggies have been outscored 17-12, outscored 8-7 in the first half and 9-5 in the second half, and have been outshot 159-106. Kaya Herndon has accounted for a team-high four goals with seven different players scoring at least one goal and three with multiple goals. Herndon has scored three goals in the last two matches and four goals in the last four matches.
Four players have started all 13 matches in Lakelee Perkins, Courtney Wagner, Kiley Fehrenbacher and Sydnie Fong.
In net, Piper Wilkison has started in seven matches, allowing nine goals with 16 saves. Dina Frenkel has started in four matches, allowing six goals and 15 saves, and Cat Pieper has appeared in three matches with two starts, and 17 saves and two goals allowed.
