BOULDER, Colo.— The Lobos fell 3-0 to No. 24 Colorado on Thursday night with CU scoring two goals in the first half and added a goal in the second half.

UNM was outshot 21-10 with a 13-5 difference in shots on goal, forcing Alyson Campbell to make a career-high 10 saves against her hometown team.

Campbell turned away the first Colorado shot taken 1:30 into the contest, but the Buffaloes scored an early goal in the eighth minute after Campbell made the initial save on a header and CU got the deflection and kicked it in. Campbell made two more saves following consecutive corner kicks in the ninth and 10th minutes, however, CU added a second goal in the 14th minute off of a corner kick with the initial header hitting the crossbar with a Buffalo player there and heading it in.

Colorado led 12-2 in shots, 8-2 in shots on goal in the first half with Nicole Anderson’s shot on goal in the 21st minute UNM’s first shot of the match. UNM’s second shot on goal was off of a free kick in which Angelina Moschetti sent it into the box with Kennedy Brown redirecting it towards bottom left with the CU keeper making a save.

UNM had the first shot of the second half with Fiona Jenkins’ shot blocked at the 53:15 mark, with Campbell making a save on the other end 36 seconds later. Jenkins accounted for the second shot of the half that was deflected and sailed over the crossbar.

The Lobos came inches away from getting on the board at the 63:08 mark after a cross into the box from Jenkins led to an initial shot low middle by Frenz that was saved by the CU goalkeeper and after the ball landed back at her feet all alone with the goalie out of position on her back, her second shot went inches wide right.

CU added a third goal in the 67th minute.

UNM continued to create chances as Alysa Whelchel put a ball on target in the 71st minute from outside the 18-yard box that was saved with UNM taking eight shots with three on goal in the final 45 minutes.

Campbell made a career-high 10 saves against Colorado, facing a career-high 21 shots.

The Lobos (2-2-0) remain on the road to face Northern Colorado on Sunday at 12 p.m. on ESPN+.
