TEMPE, Ariz. --- The University of New Mexico women's tennis team was honored with an ITA All-Academic Team honor, and eight players were honored as ITA Scholar Athletes. The eight individuals were Yu Yun "Kathy" Tsai, Vianca Corley, Marika Matsoukatidi, Bente Vandeputte, Sarah L'Allier, Ramona Petre, Lea Malazdra, Ana Veroux, and Coumba Ben Niangadou.

Overall, 1,501 Division I Women’s student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 231 Women’s tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.

To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.

To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), with all letter winners factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
