RENO, Nev. – New Mexico Women’s Track & Field won its second Mountain West Indoor Track & Field team title in a row on Saturday’s final day of competition, nearly doubling up on second-place Nevada (84 points) with a 165-point total.
The Lobo women scored 116 points on the final day of competition, with Tilly Simpson (Mile), Rebecca Grieve (400m), Pamela Kosgei (3,000m) and the UNM 4x400m relay squad all taking home gold Saturday to lead the way. Kosgei was named Women’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after sweeping both the 3K and 5K titles, with Coach Darren Gauson earning MW Women’s Coach of the Year honors for the second indoor championships in a row.
The New Mexico women have now won five conference titles in a row across cross country and track (2024 XC, 2025 Indoor, 2025 Outdoor, 2025 XC, 2026 Indoor). In total, they scored 36 points in the 3,000m, 29 in the 5,000m, 22 in the Mile, 13 in the 400m, 20 in relays, nine apiece in the 200m and 800m, six in the 60m, 60 hurdles and high jump, five in the triple jump and two each in the pole vault and long jump.
The Lobo men (122 points) narrowly finished second behind men’s champions Colorado State (138 points) in the final team score despite scoring 93 points on the final day. Matthew Endrody won both the Mile and 800m Finals, Cameron Miller won the Triple Jump, Brodie Young won the 400m final and anchored the winning 4x400 relay team and Habtom Samuel was named MW Men’s Outstanding Track Performer of the Meet after winning both the 3K and 5K in dominant fashion.
All in all, the men squeezed out 21 points from the 3,000m, 20 from the DMR and 4x4, 19 from the 5,000m, 18 in the Mile, 15 in the 400m, 10 in the 800m and Triple Jump, five in the pole vault and two apiece in the 200m and 60 hurdles.
