HOUSTON, Texas --- Five more PRs, including a fourth in the meet from Kaylah Yazzie, highlighted day three of the Mountain West Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday. The final day is Saturday, starting at 10:30 am Central with prelims and finishing with finals at 6 pm.

The Lobos moved up to 217 points for the meet, sitting in 11th place. San Diego State, looking for a seventh title in the last eight years, has 958.5 points and a 126.5-point advantage over second-place Nevada.

The Lobos had a pair qualify for C-Finals, with Yazzie and Emily Ford turning the trick. Yazzie's qualifying time of 56.58 would have been a PR had she not edged that number in a relay the day before. Still, that time put her in the C-Final, and she topped it with a new PR of 56.47, moving up a slot to 21st overall.

Ford qualified for the C-Final with a 1:04.34 to edge out Kathryn Gyde of Washington State for a spot, and she stayed there, picking one point for 24th place.

The Lobos also earned 32 points each for 11th-place finishes in the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay. UNM also came in ninth in team diving for 40 points.

Saturday's finale will start with the 200 backstroke, the 100 free, the 200 breaststroke, and the 10-meter platform. The 1,650 free will be run between sessions, with that final as part of the conclusion. The late session will have all of those finals, plus the 400-meter freestyle relay.
