ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobos are home for their next two games, starting with San José State on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

UNM enters the game 18-6 (8-5 MW) with SJSU 3-21 (1-12 MW). The Lobos have won four of their last five games and the Spartans are 1-4 in their last five games.

SERIES HISTORY              
The Lobos are 19-4, 8-1 at home all-time against the Spartans and have won the last seven games in the series. UNM won the last meeting in San Jose 89-51 with a season-high five players finishing in double figures. Cacia Antonio and Kaia Foster led the team with 15 points with Jessie Joaquim leading the team with 16 rebounds. As a team, UNM had a season-high 58 rebounds with 25 on the offensive end, resulting in 25 second-chance points.

The bench scored 43 points in the game with all 11 players scoring a point.

FAST START       
UNM is outscoring opponents 382-299 (+83) in the first quarter, 422-363 (+59) in the second quarter and 804-662 (+142) in the first 20 minutes.

In the conference opener, the Lobos scored the first 14 points against Boise State with six different Lobos contributing to the points, and against Wyoming, the Lobos scored the first 10 points of the game. Against UNLV, the Lobos built a 13-2 lead behind a 10-0 run with the Lobos making five of their first seven shots. Against Utah State, the Lobos used a 9-0 run to lead 9-2 and closed the first quarter on a 6-0 run to build a 12-point lead.

Further, UNM held Wyoming (5), Boise State (4), San José State (4), Nevada (9), UNLV (9) and Utah State (7) to single digits in the first quarter and held San José State (8), Colorado State (2) and Wyoming (8) to single digits in the second quarter.

WIN THE QUARTER        
The second quarter is UNM’s largest quarter for point production at 422 points, followed by the fourth quarter (410 points), with the first quarter the largest margin of +83.  UNM has outscored its opponent in the first quarter 14 times, the second quarter in 11 games this season, the third quarter 13 times and the fourth quarter 14 times.

The Lobos have also held their opponent below 10 points in a quarter in 13 games this season. The Lobos held the Cowgirls to single digits in two quarters in the first meeting, the first time doing it twice in a game this season, and repeated it the next game against San José State. Against Utah State, the Lobos held the Aggies to single digits in three quarters.

Six times, the Lobos have held their opponent below 20 points at the half: 19 points (Wyoming), 18 points (Utah State), 12 points (San José State), 15 points (New Mexico State), 17 points (Chicago State) and 18 points (UT Martin).

UNM is 12-2 when leading after the first quarter, 16-1 when leading at the half and 14-1 when leading after the third quarter.

ABOUT THE OPPONENT
The Spartans are averaging 57.1 points per game, led by Maya Anderson at 13.0 points per game, and allowing 74.4 points per game. Anderson also leads SJSU in rebounds per game at 6.6 and steals (33), while Allie Cummins leads the team in assists (46) and Gabriela Pato leads the team in blocks (30). As a team SJSU is shooting 33.8% and averaging 7.0 three-pointers per game. The Spartans lead the Mountain West in blocks per game at 4.1 with Pato third in the conference in blocks per game.

Against conference opponents, SJSU is scoring 56.9 points per game and allowing 79.1 points per game, with Anderson averaging 12.7 points per game and Amira Brown averaging 11.4 points per game.
