NORTHRIDGE, Calif. --- The New Mexico Lobos finished out the CSUN Hidden Duals with four more wins, giving UNM a winning record in the tournament heading into the winter offseason before dual match play starts in January.
For the weekend, the Lobos went 19-17 overall, with records of 12-13 in singles and 7-4 in doubles over the tournament, playing several strong teams from around the country.
On Sunday, Lea Malazdra picked up her third straight win, defeating Carolyna Fowler 6-2, 3-6, 7-6 (7-1) for a perfect 3-0 record on the week. Yu Yun "Kathy" Tsai earned a second win with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 come-from-behind win over Haily Huynh. UNM's other win was the second of the weekend for Coumba Ben Niangadou, winning 6-1, 6-2 over Line Greyling.
Niangadou and Tsai teamed up for UNM's lone doubles win on the day, winning easily at 6-1. UNM faced players from UC Irvine and Youngstown State in singles and Arkansas State in doubles.
