Phill Hansel Invitational on Tap for Swimming & Diving
HOUSTON, Texas — The Lobo swimming and diving team takes a weekend away from dual meets to battle in an invitational setting at the Phill Hansel Invitational.
The Lobos will compete against host Houston, Rice, New Mexico State, Florida Gulf Coast, New Mexico, Nevada, Air Force and San Jose State. On Wednesday, events will include the 200 Free Relay, the 500 Freestyle, 200 IM, 50 Freestyle, 400 Medley Relay, and 1-meter diving. Thursday will showcase the 200 Medley Relay, the 100 Butterfly, the 400 IM, the 200 Free, the 100 Breaststroke, the 100 Backstroke, the 800 Free Relay, and 3-meter diving while Friday will conclude with the 1650 Freestyle, the 200 Backstroke, the 100 Freestyle, the 200 Breaststroke, the 200 Butterfly, the 400 Freestyle Relay, and Platform diving. All of the events will have prelims earlier in the day except the relays and the 1,650 freestyle.
For each swimming event there will be five finals with an A, B, and C final being scored. diving will have two finals after prelims. Each day will start with swimming prelims before moving to the diving prelims. Those will be followed by the diving consolation finals before a break. After the break will be the swimming finals and then diving championship finals, with the relays to conclud the night.
The Lobos will travel swimmers Layni Anderle, Ellie Broughton, Sophia Corder, Colette Dhenin, Emily Ford, Jordan Foster, Linda Franco, Asianna Lee, Paige Lyons, Katy McCarter, Alex McGill, Eryn Quirsfeld, Arianna Stokes, Tuana Uyar, Summer Wenger and Kaylah Yazzie. THe team will travel divers Rithika Colvin, Alice English, Isabella Gomez, Niah Morris, Reed Moyer, Arianna Pelligra and Zoe Rinon.
