Lobos Fall in Four to UNLV

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – New Mexico Volleyball rallied to get within striking distance in both of the first two sets, but ultimately fell in four (25-23, 22-25, 13-25, 16-25) to UNLV on Saturday afternoon at the Johnson Center.

The Lobos (17-7, 8-4 MW) split the season series with the Rebels (14-10, 6-6 MW) and remain in sole possession of second place in the league standings ahead of three teams tied for third.

BY THE NUMBERS
Uxue Guereca and Kali Wolf both recorded double-digit kills to lead UNM’s attack, recording seven and six digs, respectively. Three other Lobos added multiple kills – Athina Dimitriadis finished with seven and Kaitlynn Biassou added six more, with Lauryn Payne connecting on two.

Five Lobos finished with multiple blocks as well, with Dimitriadis, Biassou and Mattison Matthews all finishing with four blocks and Payne and Guereca adding two each.

True freshman Madeleine Miller led the Lobos in assists for the first time in her career with 18, with Melissa Walden adding 15 more – both finished with eight digs each.
