ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The Lobo volleyball team closes the week on the road at Nevada, set to face the Wolf Pack on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT on the Mountain West Network.

UNM is coming off a three-set loss to San José State on Thursday night, where Kaitlynn Biassou led the way with 10 kills and Uxue Guereca had four service aces.

Biassou returns home to face her hometown team and is on the verge of reaching another career milestone. The senior co-captain currently sits at 1,332 career points and is five away from joining the top-10 all-time career list and is one kill away from moving up to eighth in the all-time list. Biassou has had quite the success against her hometown team in her time as a Lobo. The Sparks, Nevada native and Reno High School graduate is 5-0 and has tallied double-digit kills in every match against the Wolf Pack. Four of the five matches have been played in Reno.

In the last meeting between the two teams at Nevada, Biassou finished with 21 kills and four service aces, and in the match before that, recorded a double-double with 14 kills and 17 digs. Overall, Biassou has registered 84 kills in the five matches, an average of 16.8 kills per match.

The Lobos (11-6, 2-5 MW) face Nevada, who enters at 9-9, 3-4 in the MW after beating Air Force in four sets on Thursday. Nevada’s conference other conference wins are over Fresno State (3-2) and Wyoming (3-2) and its losses are to San Diego State (3-1), Utah State (3-0), Boise State (3-1) and Colorado State (3-0).

Nevada is 2-4 in three sets, 5-3 in four sets and 2-2 in five sets, and 1-2 at home on the season.

Following Saturday’s match, the Lobos host San Diego State on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 6:30 p.m. MT.
