ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— The New Mexico volleyball team closes the week and its four-match homestand with UNLV on Thursday, Oct. 6 at 6:30 p.m.

It will be UNM’s second match of the week, with the Lobos coming off of a four-set win over Air Force on Tuesday.
Kaitlynn Biassou led the way with a match-high 17 kills, and added 11 digs for a double-double, while Kali Wolf recorded a double-double with 11 kills and 13 digs.
The Lobos won the statistical battle in kills (46-42), assists (42-38), service aces (9-1), digs (66-61) and blocks (11.0-10.0). Anilee Sher nearly matched Air Force’s team total in assists with a match-high 36 assists, with the Falcons finishing with 38 team assists.
UNM (11-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Mountain West) enters Thursday’s match having finished with 10 or more total blocks in the last four matches and in five of the last six matches. Avital Jaloba registered a match-high two solo blocks and six assisted blocks for a match-high eight total blocks against the Falcons, the second-straight match that the middle blocker has tallied eight. Biassou assisted on five blocks.
UNM is 5-2 when registering double-digit blocks.
UNLV is 12-3 on the season and 3-1 in conference with wins over Wyoming (3-0), Fresno State (3-0) and San Diego State (3-1) and a loss to Colorado State (3-0).
The Rebels have three players with over 100 kills on the season, led by Isabel Martin with 216 (3.93 per set). Jhenna Gabriel has accounted for 551 of the team’s 704 assists, and is averaging 10.4 per set. Maya Sands leads the team in service aces (21) and in digs (208), with Jordyn Freeman holding the team lead in total blocks at 49 (nine solo).
Gabriel leads the MW in assists per set and Martin is fourth in the conference in points per set with 4.41 per set, having 242.5 on the year.
UNLV leads the conference in overall assists per set (12.8) and in kills per set (13.76), and is third in hitting percentage (.250) and in opponent hitting percentage (.192). In just conference games, UNLV is averaging 13.77 kills per set to lead the MW, is second in assists per set at 12.38 and third in hitting percentage (.259).
