BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The University of New Mexico track & field team wrapped up their indoor season as four Lobos completed competition at the NCAA Indoor Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex on Friday night.
Amelia Mazza-Downie led the Lobos with a seventh-place finish, thanks to a personal best time of 15:37.87. Her time is also the third best in the event in Australian history. She earned First Team All-American for her top-8 placement in the event.
Gracelyn Larkin followed closely behind as she placed eighth with a time of 15:44.31. She also earned First Team All-American.
Adva Cohen came in 13th with a time of 16:08.97, while Emma Heckel closed out the pack of Lobos in 14th place with a time of 16:09.63. Both Cohen and Heckel earned Second Team All-American honors.
The Lobos will take a couple weeks to rest and get prepared to open their outdoor season on the road at the ASU Invitatonal in Tempe, Ariz., on March 25-26. New Mexico hosts its’ first home outdoor meet, UNM Spring Invite, on April 7.
