ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The New Mexico men’s basketball team returns home Saturday afternoon when it hosts Air Force. Tipoff at The Pit is 2:00 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Stadium/Mountain West Network and the Lobo Radio Network.
Fans attending the game are reminded of the health and safety protocols at The Pit. Fans 12 and over must show proof of vaccination or show proof of a negative COVID test in order to enter the arena. Wearing masks is encouraged but no longer required. Complete information on the policy is available at GoLobos.com/safe.
Saturday’s game is Lobos Love Pink Day at The Pit, presented by UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center. Fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness and there will be pink-themed giveaways at all gates. The game is also the men’s basketball alumni day with alumni in attendance being honored at halftime.
The Lobos (11-17, 3-11) are looking for their 12th overall win and fourth conference win of the season, both marks that would double last year’s win totals. Jamal Mashburn, Jr. leads the Lobos in scoring at 17.7 points per game and is one of two Mountain West players to have scored in double figures in every conference game this season.
Air Force (10-16, 3-12) is looking to snap an eight-game losing streak, having last won on Jan. 25 at San Jose State. The Falcons are led by A.J. Walker, who is averaging 14.9 points per game.
It is the second meeting of the season between the teams as the Lobos won 91-77 at Clune Arena on Feb. 5. Jaelen House led New Mexico with 42 points, tied for the high in the Mountain West this season, and the most allowed by the Falcons since 1995.
Following the game, the Lobos will visit Fresno State on Monday. Game time is 8 p.m. MT (7 p.m PT) and the game will air on FS1.
