ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —  There are some knowns and unknowns when it comes to the specialists at UNM for 2021.  How it shakes out might not be known until UNM kicks off on Thursday. Literally.

Here what is known. Troy Sicaeros snapped all last season and he is back, with Isaiah Perez in the mix as well, so the Lobos are in good shape there.  Mannie Logan-Greene is as steady a returner as there is, both for punts and kickoffs, and he should be a steadying presence in the return game.  UNM has lots of options behind him, with Luke Wysong and Joah Flores both capable in the punt return game and both Chad Alexander and Donte Martin with experience returning kicks.

Even in the kicking game, UNM brings back 2018 and 2019 starter Andrew Shelley and 2020 starter George Steinkamp.  The question is who will win the kicking job?  That might not be known until Thursday.  Steinkamp is the leader in the clubhouse for the kickoff job as well.  The punting job is down to either Aaron Rodriguez or Jared Long, both of whom have shown tremendous growth over fall camp.

Tickets: Season-game tickets are still available via golobos.com/tickets, and fans can now get in on mini-plans as well.  UNM is currently ahead of the 2019 season ticket totals.

There are two mini-plans for fans to get in on, the Cherry Plan and the Silver Plan. The Cherry Plan gets you a three-game set of the opener against Houston Baptist, New Mexico State and UNLV.  The Silver Plan gets fans tickets for New Mexico State, Air Force and Utah State.
